Venus basin, 1760

Descripcion foto: The Venus basin is a historical water feature located in Tiergarten, Berlin. Originally designed in the 17th century by Johann Gregor Memhardt, it was created as part of a large-scale landscaping project for the Tiergarten park. The centerpiece of the basin is a statue of Venus, the Roman goddess of love and beauty, which was added in the 18th century. The statue is a replica of the famous Venus de' Medici, a Hellenistic marble sculpture. The basin underwent renovations in the 19th and 20th centuries, and today, it remains a popular attraction and picturesque spot for visitors to the park.
