Descripcion foto: The Galleria is Italy's oldest active shopping gallery, named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. It connects two of Milan's most famous landmarks: The Duomo and the Teatro Alla Scala. A few years after its first inauguration, the Gallery earned the nickname "Milan's living room" becoming the seat of the city's bourgeois life who delighted in frequenting the new elegant shops, but above all the restaurants and cafés.
