Descripcion foto: The Salle du Manège ("Riding Hall") was home to the royal equestrian academy built by Louis XV. On 9 November 1789, during the French Revolution, the National Assembly installed itself in the Salle du Manège. Some of the most important decisions taken by the National Assembly in this building include: - October 21, 1790: Adoption of the Tricolor Flag; - September 21, 1792: Abolition of Royalty; - September 22, 1792: Proclamation of the Republic; - December 11, 1792: Start of the trial of Louis XVI; - January 17, 1793: King Louis XVI is found guilty and his immediate execution is decided. In 1804 the Salle was demolished to make room to the construction of rue de Rivoli.
