Death of the Princess De Lamballe

Description: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Th%C3%A9r%C3%A8se_Louise_of_Savoy,_Princesse_de_Lamballe

Descripcion foto: Marie Thérèse Louise, Princess de Lamballe, was the confidante of Queen Marie Antoinette. For this, during the French Revolution, she was arrested and brought to La Force Prison. La Force was one of the prisons that suffered the September Massacres, a series of killings of prisoners in Paris done by revolutionaries. On 3 September 1792, Marie Thérése was brought to a tribunal in the courtyard of the Prison and demanded to "take an oath to love liberty and equality and to swear hatred to the King and the Queen and to the monarchy", which she refused to do. She was then quickly escorted by two guards to the door of the yard where the massacre was taking place and killed by an angry mob. After her death, her corpse was reportedly undressed, eviscerated, and decapitated, with its head placed upon a pike.
