The Passau Invasion of Bohemia

Descripcion foto: The Passau Invasion was the military occupation of Prague, as a result of which Emperor Rudolf II was forced to abdicate the Bohemian throne, leaving the lands of the Czech Crown to his brother Matthias Habsburg, Holy Roman Emperor. Bloody clashes occured in the city, in which 1,400 men were killed or wounded. The resulting confusion in Prague was taken advantage of by a mob that began looting monasteries in the Old and New Towns of Prague, including the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles the Great.
