Columna Maenia

Description: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columna_Maenia

Descripcion foto: The Columna Maenia was an honorary column erected by Gaius Maenius in 338 BC for his victory over the Latins at the Battle of Antium. It was used as part of an elaborate timing device that determined the final hour of the day. Various petty criminals were bound to the column as a form of public punishment. It was probably destroyed during the reorganization of this part of the Forum in the Caesarian era, with the creation of the Forum of Caesar.
