Descripcion foto: The Naumachia of Augustus was a building used to stage naval battles as mass entertainment built by Emperor Augustus. Augustus himself indicates that the basin measured 1,800 Roman feet out of 1,200 (approximately 533 x 355 meters), and it was filled with water from the Tiber River. Built by Augustus, it was later used by Nero, Titus, and Domitian, and then abandoned at the time of Alexander Severus (Emperor from 222 until 235).
