Description: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caligula
Descripcion foto: Gaius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, better known by his nickname Caligula, was Roman emperor from AD 37 until his assassination in AD 41. He is described as a noble and moderate Emperor during the first six months of his rule. After this, the sources focus on his cruelty, sadism, extravagance, and sexual perversion, presenting him as an insane tyrant. The situation escalated when, in the year 40, Caligula announced to the Senate that he planned to leave Rome permanently and move to Alexandria in Egypt, where he hoped to be worshipped as a living god. The prospect of Rome losing its Emperor and thus its political power was the final straw for many. On 24 January 41, Cassius Chaerea, the leader of the Praetorian Guard, stabbed Caligula first, followed by a number of conspirators. By the time Caligula's loyal Germanic guard responded, the Emperor was already dead.
