Battle of Asculum

Description: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Asculum

Descripcion foto: The Battle of Asculum took place between the Roman Republic and the forces of King Pyrrhus of Epirus. The two forces forces counted with similar numbers, but Pyrrhus could also count with 19 war elephants. It was the original “Pyrrhic victory” (a victory that inflicts such a devastating toll on the victor that it is tantamount to defeat), as the King of Epirus commented: "If we are victorious in one more battle with the Romans, we shall be utterly ruined".
