Descripcion foto: The first Théâtre des Nouveautés opened on 10 March 1827 in the Salle de la Bourse (capacity 1250) located on the rue Vivienne 27, across from the Paris Bourse. The programs consisted of ballads, opéras comiques, satires and political plays. Unable to face censorship bans and victim of his rivalry with the troupe of the Opéra-Comique, the theater had to close its doors in 1832. It reopened after several years and is now located at 26 Boulevard des Italiens.
