Description: The conservation programs of Cooperativa Turística Kab Xok and Saving Our Sharks have now partnered with Ch’ooj Ajauil AC in monitoring sharks off the northeast Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.  This male great hammerhead shark was named Bob Patricio Armstrong by shark 'adopter' Rebecca Armstrong who kindly donated the satellite tag.   Kab Xok (‘shark world’ in Mayan), is a Cooperative formed by fishermen from Isla Mujeres dedicated to the monitoring and conservation of sharks and marine life through nature tourism and citizen science. Saving Our Sharks is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to the conservation and research of sharks and marine life in the Mexican Caribbean for more than 13 years. Ch'ooj Ajauil (meaning ‘blue lordship’ in Mayan), is a non-profit organization devoted to ensuring a healthy and sustainable future for the marine biodiversity of Mexican waters.
