Description: Fort Reno 7107 W Cheyenne St. El Reno, Oklahoma Access: 24/7. Fort entry 9am-4pm Fort Reno began as a military camp in 1874, but after Oklahoma statehood in 1907, the post was abandoned, but still remained as a quartermaster remount depot that served the purpose of raising horses and mules for military use around the world. During World War II, German and Italian prisoners of war were housed on the grounds. Remains of the WWII POWs, residents of the fort, pioneer settlers, and military personnel are interred in the fort's cemetery. The fort is open to the public and has a visitor's center with fort memorabilia and exhibits. Made in America: While in the area, visit Johnnies Hamburgers & Coneys, home of the WORLD FAMOUS grilled onion burger, located at 301 S. Rock Island Ave. Instructions: Take a photo similar to the one attached, with rider flag and motorcycle. A second photo may be required for location and/or safety reasons.
