Description: Korean War Memorial E 5th St. and Marsh Rd. Carson City, Nevada Access: 24/7 Note: This site is located in a residential neighborhood, please be respectful of the homeowners when visiting during the late and early hours of the day. This memorial was erected by the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter #305 and honors the Nevadans who lost their lives during the conflict. There are two focal points: the first being four large stones bearing the names of four Nevada cities that gave their names to the last major action of the war known as the Nevada cities complex. Four major hills northeast of Panmunjom, Korea were designated by US Forces as Carson, Reno, Las Vegas, and Elko. The second is a scale replica of a Hanok (Korean house) that sits atop a pillar. It was crafted by hand in South Korea and shipped here to its final resting place. Made in America: Look 50 yards east and you’ll see what could be one of the first pizza ovens in America. Read the historical markers at the entrance to Riverview Park. Instructions: Take a photo similar to the one attached along with rider flag and motorcycle.
