MD3 - Middle River, MD | Veterans Memorial

Description: Veterans Memorial 10201 Bird River Rd. Middle River, Maryland Access: 24/7. Two photos required. Dedicated to honor those from Baltimore County who paid the supreme sacrifice in service to their country during World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Persian Gulf, Iraq/Afghanistan. Space is reserved on the monument for any future wars. Each year, the memorial is inscribed with the names of any other service members from the county who have died in the continuing actions overseas. During the annual Memorial Day ceremony carnations are placed at the memorial for each veteran killed in action since World War I as each of the fallen hero’s name is called. According to Keith Roberts, the vice president of the veterans’ committee, “the monument is so important because it localizes the sacrifice and the impact of war. We hear about war and death and loss every day, but it only feels truly real when the person we lost was a former neighbor, classmate or friend.” Made in America: Stop for a bite at By the Docks for fresh local seafood. https://bythedocks.com/ For a more relaxed repast, try the Silver Moon Diner at 9605 Pulaski Hwy – a classic stainless steel diner with all your diner favorites. Instructions: Take a photo similar to the one attached, with rider flag and motorcycle. A second photo may be required for location and/or safety reasons. Refer to Rules 6-8 (https://bit.ly/3m7BRWv) for photo verification. Scorers have final say whether standards are met.
