Standing in a triangle of land across from one of Westfield’s town parks is this monument to the victims of the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Not just to those who died in the attacks on New York City and the Pentagon, but those throughout the United States whose innocence was lost. To all of us who felt safe and protected by surrounding oceans and a long time stable government that was the envy of the world. That day we became vulnerable. On that day, Westfield lost three citizens in the attacks on the Twin Towers. Two worked for Cantor Fitzgerald in the north tower and one was a passenger on Flight 11 which crashed into the north tower. Tara Kathleen Creamer, Brian Joseph Murphy and Daniel Patrick Trant lost their lives that day and never returned home.
