Description: International World War Peace Tree 11471 North St Joseph Ave. Evansville, Indiana Access: 24/7. Suggest parking on Orchard Rd. One of 71 Peace Trees from around the world. This one is surrounded by cornfields so its relative isolation from the nearby forests makes it easy to identify. In front of the tree is a wooden sign reading, “International World War Peace Tree – Nov. 11, 1918,” marking the end of World War I. The impressive tree is at least 107 years old and has its origins in Germany. It was brought to the United States in 1912 as a seedling by Joseph Freudenberg prior to World War I. When the treaty was signed in 1918, a ceremony was held and the tree was planted at this location in celebration of the end of the War. Made in America: In nearby Evansville, military history buffs shouldn’t miss a guided tour of the LST Ship Memorial. Aboard the USS LST-325, guests are treated to well-preserved artifacts, documents, and photo collections and have the opportunity to tour the entire ship. https://bit.ly/2WcjgxD Instructions: Take a photo similar to the one attached along with rider flag and motorcycle.
