FL5 - Pensacola | Veterans Memorial Park

Description: Veterans Memorial Park 200 S 10th Ave. Pensacola, Florida GPS: 30.41327, -87.20333 Access: 24/7 Founded in 1992, the Park has grown and prospered to include Wall South, the first permanent replica of the National Vietnam War Memorial. It also includes memorials for World War I, World War II Memorial, and the Korean War and a running series of plaques to honor local warriors who have fallen in the Global War on Terror. There’s also a Purple Heart Memorial and a monument to the submarine lifeguards who rescued so many Navy pilots in World War II (including President George Herbert Walker Bush). Recently, it became home to the Marine Corps Aviation Bell Tower, which is now a popular venue for local veterans' events and ceremonies. This area is rich in military history with numerous branches of the armed forces represented within a small radius. You will often find local veterans visiting that are more than happy to sit and talk. State sponsor Dan Buis says, “I always leave this location with a greater sense of pride and respect for our veterans.” Walk around as this is certainly a site where you’ll want to spend some time. Instructions: Take a photo similar to the one attached, with rider flag and motorcycle. A second photo may be required for location and/or safety reasons. Refer to Rules 6-8 (https://bit.ly/3m7BRWv) for photo verification. Scorers have final say whether standards are met.
