Description: The aim of the project was to increase the capacity of the intensive care unit of Zambia's largest state hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Detailed description: Within the project, implemented in the form of the so-called tied financial donation, twenty-five multifunctional hospital beds for intensive care units, tables and cabinets, four electrosurgical units, eight UV disinfectants and other medical furniture produces by Czech manufacturers were delivered. The equipment was handed over for use at a time when Zambia was facing the largest wave of COVID-19 proliferation to date, with hospital capacity fully filled and insufficient beds for other serious cases, and the Czech Republic's assistance made a significant contribution to Zambia's capacity to cope with the impact of the pandemic.
