Detailed description: With the financial support of the Czech Development Agency, ADRA, together with partners from Norway and Ethiopia, supports inclusive education in the Oromiya region of Ethiopia, Arsi Negele region. The project's comprehensive approach includes support for children and their parents, teachers and school representatives, school authorities and the technical capacity of the schools themselves. First and foremost, ADRA focuses on awareness-raising activities. Our aim is to show the parents of children and entire communities how important education is. If parents understand the importance of education, it is a great support for children. We also reach out to teachers and explain to them that school methodologies must be prepared so that students with special needs can study in school. Changes must also be made to the facilities of schools, which should be freed from barriers and made accessible to all. Another group we work with are adolescent girls - they attend school less than their same age classmates. This is because girls either have to perform domestic duties or there are insufficient sanitary facilities at school.
