Detailed description: According to available information, only 4% of children with special needs attended grades 1 to 12 in the 2013/2014 school year. The majority of children with disabilities or other disadvantages remain outside the education system. The project therefore aims to increase the social and economic inclusion of education for all, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status. The project, implemented in Gedeo and Hadiya zones, is expected to result in the creation of an inclusive environment that supports learning in primary schools, increase the capacity of school authorities and teachers, promote the inclusion of children with special needs in primary education, and support community members in their inclusion in schools and social life. During 2019, support centres (resource centres) were established in all target schools and inclined platforms were installed to facilitate movement around the building.
