Description: Ameren Missouri developed this center in Maryland Heights to turn the gas from decomposing waste into reliable, clean energy. Burning methane has up to 15 megawatts of renewable electricity, which equals the power needed for 10,000 Missouri homes. Also, methane is available as fuel all day everyday, regardless of weather or any other conditions, making landfill gas reliable for the years to come.
