UENO PARK | 上野恩賜公園

UENO PARK | 上野恩賜公園

Description: ✅ Tested by us 👶 Baby friendly 🛒 Mostly stroller accessible ⏱ Recommended time: 1–3 hours 💴 Free entry 🕔 Open 5:00–23:00 Ueno Park is one of our favourite places to slow down in central Tokyo. It is much more than an ordinary city park — you’ll find wide paths, beautiful greenery, temples, museums, a pond and Ueno Zoo. We visited with our little daughter and genuinely loved it here. Even though Ueno can be busy, parts of the park feel wonderfully spacious and peaceful. FAMILY NOTES • plenty of space for children to walk and explore • most main paths are easy with a stroller • toilets, cafés and places to rest around the park • individual museums and attractions have their own opening hours and admission fees • many attractions are closed on Mondays MARKETS & FESTIVALS Ueno Park regularly hosts markets, cultural events and seasonal festivals. We happened to visit during a Sunday market and it was one of the highlights of our day — definitely check the current event calendar before your visit. PLAYGROUND NOTE There is a small playground close to Starbucks and the zoo entrance. We have researched it, but haven’t personally tested it yet — we’re planning to visit on our next trip. OUR TIP Pick up a coffee at Starbucks Ueno Onshi Park, enjoy a slow walk and choose just one main attraction, such as the zoo or a museum. Afterwards, you can continue on foot through Ameyoko and Okachimachi towards Akihabara. It’s a lovely way to watch quiet, green Ueno gradually turn into bright and busy Tokyo. 📍 Ueno Onshi Park 🚉 About 2 minutes from JR Ueno Station, Park Exit Last checked: May 2025
