PRAGUE – Mapotic is in the finals of Vodafone Idea of the Year competition.
Mapotic, a project which allows anybody to create a free map has been shortlisted for finals from approximately 200 contestants by a jury composed of leading business and media professionals. Mapotic is competing for the best business plan with other eleven contestants. The winner will be known this week.
The purpose of the competition is to help interesting business projects with their launch on the global market. Attractive financial and material prizes, mentoring, consulting, feedback from experienced entrepreneurs and investors or a trip to Silicon Valley await the winners.
“The jury consists of top Czech business and media people who are also well-known on an international scale. Being in finals is an acknowledgement of Mapotic as well as a good signal for investors. We are convinced that Mapotic has a strong potential to succeed on the international market and winning the competition would certainly help us to achieve that,” says Ivoš Gajdorus, a CEO of Mapotic.
Mapotic has been created so anybody can easily create own map. There have been more than 200 projects mapping communities, public toilets, historic journeys, wine places and much more since February 2017. More than 2500 people view mapotic maps daily.
It is a modern and flexible platform for creating digital maps that allows addressing diverse problems from individuals to corporations. NGOs use Mapotic to improve the world for others. Corporations use it as a marketing tool to increase direct sales, to build reputation and brand or as a part of better customer service.
Mapotic allows maps to run on any domain under own brand name. Thanks to this platform it is possible to create own mobile application within a very short time for an unbeatable price. Maps can also be easily embedded to a website.
Users love that anyone can add places to the map so maps are often created by whole communities so the owner of the map is not alone for filling it with an interesting content.
Mapotic uses different map layers from different providers. Points of interest (POIs) can easily be filtered according to various categories. Text, photos, videos, ads and other attributes set by a map admin (such as opening times, parking, barrier-free access, etc.) can be added to individual POIs. Mapotic has been created bearing in mind SEO, team work, and crowd sourcing and social media sharing.
