The team at Mapotic have been busy in recent weeks. As we ramp up our product features and expand our reach to all four corners of the globe, we’ve also been conducting research into how we can improve our solution for users. Our explorations have led us to some interesting places and communities, from Brisbane, Australia to California, USA. Our goal? To learn what makes successful communities tick. To the uninitiated, Mapotic provide a dynamic social mapping platform that enables users with a common interest to connect with one another. Think of it as Google Maps meets Facebook Groups. The idea is to share, collaborate and work on a united goal. The options are as limited as your imagination. Butterfly enthusiasts. Eco-friendly park volunteers. Parkour fanatics.
No goal is too small. No stand is too grand.
Our discussions with various groups in the past two months have uncovered a common thread of challenges, obstacles and ultimately routes to success which have helped thrust organisations and communities into the spotlight, to be recognised as influencers in their respective field.
The ‘why’s’ around building a community are, for us, quite clear. #1 – The power of a team. You don’t have to do it alone. Creating a collective identity can help promote the organisations cause and empower individual members of the team to take action. United toward a common purpose is typically much more effective than a scattering of individuals. #2 – Like attracts like. Human nature would indicate that throughout history we have evolved and prospered through social interactions. Historically it could be helping one another avoid pressing threats like a saber-tooth tiger, or sharing a common goal to ensure the survival of our species. Teaming with others in this digital age – specifically those who share our interest, is an incredibly fulfilling experience ensuring passions remain high and members are motivated. #3 – Networking. Commonalities help knock down barriers to collaboration. Social interactions and interests are dynamic and without limits. Meeting new people can spawn unexpected avenues for collaboration or personal growth. In this inter-connected age, interactions can happen instantaneously and with anyone, anywhere in the world. #4 – Ideas. A team is the sum of the individual parts. Every single person brings their own experience, knowledge and skills that can help accelerate the development and achievements of the group as a whole. Of course, we have our own ideas at Mapotic about creating a powerful community network but we wanted to learn from others. Our research in recent months has led us to speak with a number of successful community leaders in their respective field. These are people passionate about their cause who have accumulated valuable lessons from many years experience that they are willing to share – lessons that I’m excited to reveal to you. You will learn about the experiences of successful community leaders of NGOs and Sports Organisations that will help advise and shape your strategy in creating an empowered group.

European structural and investment funds Operation programme Prague – Growth Pole Czech Republic.
In 2020, the company Mapotic, s.r.o received support from the European Structural and Investment Funds, implemented through the Operational Program Prague – Growth Pole of the Czech Republic and drawn through II. call of specialized vouchers (reg. no. CZ.07.1.02 / 0.0 / 0.0. / 16_027 / 0000607). The support was aimed at the participation of the Mapotic s.r.o. at the Prague implementation site in order to increase the competitiveness. The expected output is innovation and launch of other services and products of the company.
