Description: This is where it all started! Almost, actually, because Steve Wozniak insists Apple's first headquarters was not Steve Jobs' garage, but his bedroom. Anyway, it is in this suburban garage that Steve Jobs and Woz put together the boards of their first computer, the Apple I, starting in 1976. They hired neighbourhood kids for help (including Steve's sister Patti). It was only a couple of years later that they moved to Cupertino, not far from the company's current campus, on Bandley Drive. Starting companies in garages was not a first in the Valley, since Hewlett and Packard started HP in their own garage… as early as 1939.
